Q:
What is the Shawnee County Girls Softball Association?
A: SCGSA is a non-profit organization committed to providing
girls ages 6 to 18 years the opportunity to play competitive fastpitch softball as an organized recreational activity with
the goal of promoting good sportsmanship, developing individual skills, encouraging friendships and providing leadership opportunities.
Q: How can
I find a team for my daughter age older than 8 years?
A: Unlike other fast-pitch softball organizations,
SCGSA does not place girls on a team Teams are formed by individual coaching staffs usually through tryouts held at the end
of the summer session. We will, however, take your name and contact information and pass it on to coaches who inquire about
players to fill their roster. Click here to submit your information.
You will need Adobe Reader to download some of these
forms. If you do not have Adobe Reader, please click here
Q: How can
I find a team for my daughter age younger than 9 years?
A: Girls in this age group participate in SCGSA instructional
divisions. Girls who currently do not have a team can register by submitting this form, which is sent to our player representative
(Richard Baldwin). He will make every effort to place your daughter on a team with other girls her age. Click here to submit your information.
Q:
How do I become a coach?
A: SCGSA requires new coaches to submit this
online application. To ensure a safe environment for our children and others participants of this association, all persons applying to become
a team coach or manager will be subject to a background check. SCGSA Board of Directors reviews applications and either approves
or denies the request based on, but not limited to, the results of the background check within 14 days.
